Hi, Doug,
A word from the Lord: "Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to
take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is
of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt
call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins." Matt. 1:20-21. Merry Christmas from the Polks. Take

| Live Happier, Longer, and Disease-Free |
 |
It's apparent to me that most Americans believe that they
can only hope to live to about 78. But God's word tells us
that the limit is 120 years. This is verifiable by scientists,
who tell us that we can only hope for a maximum of 90 cell
divisions per lifetime translating into 120 years of
life.
So why not live life abundantly? Why not fuel our
bodies with the fuel that God intended in Genesis 1:29. The
raw foods that He provided are being proven over and over
again to be rich in all the nutrition that our bodies require.
But how do we overcome the lowered nutrition levels in plants
grown on depleted soils? We can juice the organic vegetables
such as carrots, beets, and spinach, thereby getting pure
nutrition to our cells quickly without having to digest the
pulp. That's why we recommend fresh organic carrot juice, beet
juice, celery juice, spinach juice, and for convenience sake,
BarleyMax. BarleyMax is the main juice we should be drinking
because it is organically grown, cut before going to seed,
juiced and dehydrated at low temperature without loosing
valuable enzymes.
Marilyn and I strongly believe that
our self-healing miraculous bodies are capable of being
healthy up to 120 years of age, barring accidents. Won't you

wants you to.

| Gall Bladder: Why We Need'em, How to
Keep'em |
 |
There is a great temptation for anyone that is experiencing
gall stones and discomfort in the gall bladder area to resort
to surgical removal of the gall bladder, called
cholecystectomy. Most medical doctors will recommend such a
procedure when symptoms indicate. But what are the
implications of removing an organ that God placed in the body?
Here are some things to think about.
According to
clinical studies, there is an increased risk of colon cancer
with cholecystectomy surgery. There is also the necessity for
limiting fats and oils in the diet after surgery, since the
gall bladder's primary function is aiding in digesting
fats.
The gall bladder is attached to the underside of
the liver in order to serve as storage for the bile secreted
by the liver. Bile is an important element in the process of
digestion because it is involved in the digestion of fats.
According to Dr. Norman Walker, renowned nutritionist, bile
helps in the digestive processes by neutralizing the acid
chyme which passes through the duodenum from the stomach by
emulsifying fats. It also promotes peristalsis, contraction
and relaxation of the alimentary canal, thus moving
undigestible matter out of the colon to prevent
purtrfaction.
A diet with excess animal fat can stress
the gall bladder to the point where it can cause much pain and
discomfort. A diet with no animal fat and good vegetable fats
can allow the gall bladder to heal.
So why not change
the diet rather than resort to dangerous surgery? The
Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle can enable your gall bladder
to heal itself because you will be giving your body the fuel
that God designed for it.

| Juicing Made Easy |
 |
Before I can tell you how to make juicing easy, let me
first tell you why the juice is so important.
If there
are two foods on earth that I believe that I could not live
healthy without, they are fresh barley grass juice and fresh
carrot juice. Let me tell you why.
Carrots are one of
the cheapest vegetables in the store. They keep well in a cold
refrigerator. The fresh juice yielded from a Green Star juicer
will last from 3 to 5 days when kept in the refrigerator in
eight- ounce canning jars filled to the brim. The nutrition in
fresh carrot juice is astounding. Loaded with antioxidants
(anti-ageing, cancer-fighting compounds), vitamins, minerals,
phytochemicals, and micronutrients, fresh carrot juice is an
invigorating multinutrient liquid that everyone should
drink.
BarleyMax, the dehydrated organic barley grass
juice from Hallelujah Acres, is the most easily stored and
convenient live food on earth. It is a live food that can be
stored for up to 18 months! Incredible, but true. Marilyn and
I would not go a day without our BarleyMax. The strongest
animals on earth eat only grass. Did you know that barley has
one of the widest spectrum of nutrients of any food on earth?
It is a whole food concentrate in natural form, with the
synergy that God intended. Along with raw fruits and
vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, these two juices can help us
to excellent health God's way. Now here are some tips to make
juicing easier and less burdensome.
- Buy the best juicer, the Green Star
- Juice only sweet California carrots
- store your juice in eight-ounce canning jars
- fill the jars to the brim unless you are freezing them
- if freezing the juice leave a small amount of air
- juice only once or twice every week
- mix other fresh vegetable juices with your carrot juice
- mix BarleyMax with your carrot juice as you drink it
- peel any carrot that has darkened spots
- discard carrots that are limp

| Spotlight On Oranges |
 |
My childhood memories of Christmas morning at the Polk
house are rich. A part of our Christmas morning was unloading
our stockings that Santa had stuffed and hung over the
fireplace. At one time we had eight stockings over that
fireplace. It was such fun dumping our stockings out and
discovering the surprises inside. Without fail, our stockings
held one or two big, sweet navel oranges. Little did I know at
the time that those oranges were full of great
nutrition.
Some important information that I didn't
even suspect back then was that oranges contain a great source
of vitamin C, an essential nutrient that is also a great
disease fighter. An average orange contains over 69 milligrams
of vitamin C, almost a full day's recommended amount. This
potent nutrient can protect from or shorten the effects of
colds, pneumonia, and bronchitis. Vitamin C in oranges can
also protect you from cancers of the stomach, throat, lungs,
bladder, and pancreas. In addition to vitamin C, oranges
contain other cancer fighters such as fiber, folate,
flavonoids, and the carotenoiod,
beta-cryptoxanthin.
It's always best to eat fresh
oranges and to drink freshly squeezed orange juice rather than
to take vitamin C supplements, which can lead to diarrhea and
other stomach problems when taken in large doses. The
pasteurized juice is much less nutritional than the freshly
sqeezed juice, because of the high heat that kills many
beneficial enzymes. The canned juice is also much more acidic,
as well as being more of a glycemic burden than the fresh
juice.
A great mid-morning snack is a fresh orange.
Oranges are used in many great tasting recipes from Marilyn
and Hallelujah Acres. Orange you glad that God gave us
oranges? I sure am.

You'd Better Watch Out! |
|
|
|
The holidays can be so enjoyable and wonderful, but we also
need to realize that the feasting and partying that often
accompany this season can lead to dire
consequences.
According to the American Heart
Association, "In DOA (dead on arrival) emergency department
and outpatient groups, more cardiac deaths occurred on Dec. 25
than on any other day of the year. The second-largest number
of deaths was on Dec. 26, and the third-largest number was on
Jan. 1"
Marilyn and I would like to help you to insure
that your Christmas celebration is free from this high
statistic.
The N. D. Anderson Cancer Clinic gives these
suggestions to avoid overindulging during the period from
Thanksgiving through New Year's Day.
- Eat before you go to a party
- Slow down when you eat
- Downsize your portions
- Keep track of what you eat
- Maintain your exercise routine
- Plan your meal
- Make healthier versions of traditional holiday foods
- Stay hydrated
And of course, Marilyn and I would
encourage you to stay with The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle
and eat mostly live foods with a minimum of cooked foods and
sugary foods. By the way, order two great recipe books for the
holidays here.
